FAQs

  • What's your cancellation policy?

Please provide at least 24 hours notice if you need to reschedule. Late cancellations or no-shows will be charged 50% of the service fee. Thank you for respecting this sacred space and time.

  • Where are you located?

I am located in my home studio in Medicine Hat, Alberta. Online consults are still available for personalized guidance protocols.

  • Can I receive treatment while pregnant or postpartum?

Yes. Acupuncture can be safely and thoughtfully used during both pregnancy and the postpartum period. During pregnancy, treatment may support concerns such as nausea, headaches, back and hip discomfort, sleep challenges, stress, pelvic tension, and preparation for labor. In the postpartum period, care can help with recovery, hormonal shifts, fatigue, mood support, digestion, pelvic floor tension, C-section recovery, and the physical strain of feeding and carrying. Acupuncture may also be used to support milk supply and overall regulation as your body adjusts. All treatments are carefully adapted for each stage, with specific points used or avoided as appropriate. Positioning is adjusted for comfort, and your safety is always prioritized.

If you are newly pregnant, recently postpartum, high-risk, or have had a surgical birth, please let me know in advance so your care can be tailored accordingly.

  • What can acupuncture help with?

Acupuncture supports the body’s ability to regulate and restore balance. In my practice, I commonly treat:

    • Neck and shoulder tension
    • TMJ and jaw discomfort
    • Headaches and migraines
    • Stress and nervous system overload
    • Digestive concerns
    • Sleep challenges
    • Hormonal imbalance
    • Muscle tightness and recovery needs
    • Skin health and aging support

Care is always individualized — treatments are shaped around your specific concerns and constitution.

  • What is the Head & Neck Restoration?

Head & Neck Restoration is a focused therapeutic session for TMJ, jaw tension, headaches and upper body strain. It combines acupuncture, fire cupping and targeted massage — including intra-oral jaw release — to reduce muscular guarding, improve circulation and calm the nervous system. It’s especially helpful for clenching, grinding, tech neck, athletic strain and stress-related tension headaches & migraianes.

  • What is the 5D Sculptural Facial Experience?

The 5D Sculptural Facial is a multidimensional treatment combining sculptural facial massage with body acupuncture. It works beyond the surface — supporting circulation, lymphatic flow, muscle tone and nervous system regulation. It is ideal for facial tension, TMJ, stress patterns, and those seeking natural support for skin health and aging gracefully. Body acupuncture is always included to address your internal constitution while facial work is performed.

  • Does facial acupuncture replace Botox?

Facial acupuncture offers a natural alternative for those seeking subtle, gradual improvements in tone, circulation and skin vitality. Rather than freezing muscles, it supports healthy muscle function and internal balance. Results build with consistency and feel natural.

  • Does acupuncture hurt?

Most people are surprised by how gentle acupuncture feels. The needles are extremely fine and often barely noticeable. You may feel a mild sensation of heaviness, warmth or movement — this is normal and typically brief.

  • What is fire cupping?

Fire cupping uses glass cups to create gentle suction on the skin. This improves circulation, reduces muscular stagnation and supports recovery. Temporary circular marks may appear and typically fade within several days.

  • How often should I come?

Frequency depends on your goals. For acute concerns (TMJ flare, injury, headaches), weekly sessions may be recommended initially. For maintenance, stress support or skin health, many clients come every 3–4 weeks. Consistency supports longer-lasting results and frequency will be recommended after your first visit.

  • What forms of payment do you accept?

Payment is due at the time of service via cash or e-transfer. As a Registered Acupuncturist, acupuncture treatments are often covered under extended health benefits. Please check with your provider directly. Receipts for insurance reimbursement are issued for you to submit - I do not direct bill at this time.

  • Do you treat athletes?

Yes. With a background in movement and recovery, I regularly work with active individuals and athletes seeking support for mobility, recovery, tension and nervous system regulation.

  • What is the Kala PEMF mat, and why do you use it?

All treatments take place on my Kala PEMF mat, which uses Pulsed Electromagnetic Field (PEMF) technology to support circulation, cellular repair and nervous system regulation. PEMF works by delivering gentle electromagnetic pulses that encourage the body’s natural recovery processes. Many clients notice deeper relaxation, improved recovery and a greater sense of regulation during and after treatment. It’s a quiet but powerful addition that supports the work of acupuncture and manual therapy, helping your body integrate more effectively.
